WHY WE NEED HELP
I believe very strongly that if you want to change the world you must first change yourself. With that in mind I endeavour to live as sustainably and with as little impact on my surroundings as possible. This inevitably demands a lot of hard work; Fire wood needs to be cut, the garden needs to be tended, the donkeys need to be watered, the bee hives cared for. And there are always building and restoration projects on the go too.
It is fun to live like this so long as you have help.
WHAT WE NEED HELP WITH
In summer we need one person to help with the donkey treks and the various tasks around the house.
In winter months we are more likely to need two people and work focuses on building projects The help needed is varied and would include:
Construction projects. Experience in construction helps but don’t worry if you haven’t worked in this area. You do need to be practically minded and good with your hands though.
Ecological garden maintenance. Tasks typically include; weeding, watering, harvesting.
General help around the house. Preparing guest rooms, preparing food.
Donkey care. Walking, grooming, feeding etc…
Beekeeping assistance. Manipulating the hives, harvesting honey etc…
Socialising with guests and helping with the donkey treks.
YOU NEED TO BE AUTONOMOUS AND PRACTICAL.
You won’t be left on your own but you need to be able to show initiative and just get on with stuff.
For your benefit and ours we would have a one week trial period. If during that time you find that things aren’t what you expected or there is some sort of incompatibility we all go our separate ways with a smile.
In exchange for your time and effort we provide food, accommodation and are happy to show you around.
